Tiruvannamalai Arunachaleswarar Temple Hosts Chithirai Vasantha Utsavam Day 1

The grand Chithirai Vasantha Utsavam has commenced at the famous Arunachaleswarar Temple, drawing large numbers of devotees to Tiruvannamalai.

As part of the first day celebrations, a special Mandagapadi ritual was held inside the temple on the previous night. Following this, a unique and traditional ceremony took place near the sacred Magizha Maram, where a symbolic sedippenn (decorative doll figure) offered flowers to the deity.

Pandakal Ceremony Held at Annamalaiyar Temple for Vasantha Utsavam

The Pandakāl ceremony was held at Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai, marking the start of the upcoming Vasantha Utsavam. Devotees gathered in large numbers to witness the traditional ritual, which signals the beginning of the temple festival starting tomorrow.

Chithirai Vasantha Festival Begins at Tiruvannamalai Annamalaiyar Temple

The annual Chithirai Vasantha Festival is set to begin at the famous Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai.

As part of the celebrations, the traditional “Pandhakkal” (flag post installation) ceremony will be held on April 20, 2026, in the evening, marking the commencement of the festival.

Following this, the Chithirai Vasantha Utsavam will be celebrated from April 21 to April 30, 2026, with various rituals and special poojas conducted throughout the period.

Devotees from across the state are expected to participate in large numbers to witness the grand festivities at the temple.
