The Full Moon Girivalam in Thiruvannamalai will begin tomorrow, June 3rd, at 10:54 am and last until 9:11 am on June 4th. The temple administration has announced that this is the best time to visit Girivalam , as the crowds will be smaller.

Due to the large number of devotees expected to visit the temple during the Full Moon, the temple administration has cancelled the two-day session darshan and special darshan at the Annamalaiyar temple. Devotees can still perform regular darshan at the temple.

The Full Moon Girivalam is a sacred pilgrimage that involves circumambulating the holy mountain of Arunachala. It is believed that by walking around the mountain, devotees can cleanse themselves of sin and achieve moksha, or liberation.

Om Aunachaleswarar Temple – Chithirai Vasantha Utsavam 2023 – 10th Day celebrations

On the 10th day of the Chithirai Vasantha Utsavam festival, held at the famous Tiruvannamalai temple in Tamil Nadu, the deities of Lord Periyanakar and His Consort Parasakthi Amman were taken to the Rudraksha Mandapam located near the Periya Nandhi in the 5th Corridor of the temple. The Theertha vari, a holy water ritual, was performed . Following this, the deities were taken for a procession within the temple complex in the 5th Corridor.

Tiruvannamalai Annamalaiyar Temple Witnesses Massive Turnout of Devotees for Chitra Pournami Girivalam!

Tiruvannamalai Annamalaiyar Temple, one of the most popular temples in Tamil Nadu, is currently witnessing a grand celebration of the Chitrai Vasant Utsava. The festival, which began on May 1st, is celebrated every year during the Tamil month of Chitrai.

On May 5th, the occasion of Chitra Poornami, thousands of devotees gathered at the temple to participate in the Girivalam, which is a ritualistic circumambulation of the holy hill of Annamalai. The Girivalam is considered to be a sacred practice that brings blessings and good fortune to the devotees.

Devotees walked around the Annamalai hill, which is about 14 kilometers long, chanting hymns and offering prayers to Lord Annamalaiyar. Despite the hot weather, the devotees participated in the Girivalam with great enthusiasm and devotion. The temple authorities had made elaborate arrangements for the devotees, including setting up drinking water and food stalls along the way.
