0 Comments/in News & Events/by omarunachalaAs a concluding part of the Grand Navaratri Celebrations performed at the Thiruvannamalai temple of Lord Arunachaleeswara, the event of the deity of the Lord Muruga along with His Consorts Valli and Deivayanai going out to destroy and vanquish the demon Mahishasura who vanished into thin air in a place known as MaruviSeri Andhambin Seri Pandhal (Thedi Andham) with the deity of Lord Muruga showering arrows in all eight directions was performed on 15th October as a concluding part of the Navaratri Festival.
Devotees banned from undertaking Girivalam on Full Moon Day (October) at Om Arunachala Temple!
0 Comments/in Deepam 2021, News & Events/by omarunachalaAs a preventive measure to check/prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the District Collector of Thiruvannamalai has issued an order banning the devotees from undertaking ‘Girivalam’ (devotees undertake a trip by walk all along with the base poof the mountain chanting/praying the Lord Arunachaleswarar) at the Thiruvannamalai temple.
The ban on Girivalam is valid from 6.00 AM on 19th October (Tuesday) to midnight on 21st October. The District Collector has further ordered that the public need not visit on this occasion!.
