The district administration has announced a ban on Girivalam in Tiruvannamalai from 15 & 16 February 2022 In a notification released, the collector has mentioned:
The Sacred Occasion of ‘Thai Kruthigai’ observed at the Lord Arunachaleswarar Temple!
The day on which the star ‘Kruthigai’ falls in the Tamil Calendar Month of Thai, is considered a sacred occasion. Special prayers and poojas are performed in the temples on this day. This holy occasion of Thai Kruthigai was celebrated in the Lord Arunachaleswarar Temple in Thiruvannamalai.
