Bharani Deepam was lit in Om Arunachaleswarar temple
Owing to the auspicious day of Karthigai Deepam festival 2022, Thiruvannamalai Arunachaleswarar temple was opened this morning and special Abishegam and Dheeparathanai were done.
At 4.00 am, the Bharani deepam was lit inside the shrine of lord. A yagam was grown at the Artha Mandapam from where twenty Bharani Deepam was lit by Sivasariyargal.
The Bharani Deepam was brought and shown to all devotees. A large number of people worshipped the lamp as it was taken around by a priest.
The key event of this festival the Maha Deepam at the Thiruvannamalai hill at a height of 2668 will be lit today evening at 6 pm. Below are some of the pictures showcasing the Bharani Deepam event.

GRAND MAHAA DEEPAM FESTIVAL TOMORROW: DEEPAM LIGHTING GIANT COPRA BEING LIFTED TO MOUNTAIN TOP!
On the occasion of the grand Naha Deepam Lighting scheduled tomorrow (Tuesday, 6th December) on the Copra on top of the 2668` mountain, the activity of lifting the copra to the mountaintop is in progress!
The devotees are engaged in the rather difficult task of lifting the copra, the wicks for the Deepam (light) and the ghee *clarified butter as fuel) to the top of the mountain!
The copra on which Maha Deepam is to be lit is of 5.9` in height and 250 kg in weight!
Over the last few days, repair works for this copra were undertaken to make it safe and ready! After repair, special poojas were performed for the Copra and it is now being taken to the top of the mountain.
The copra is made of Pacnalokas (5 metals) and is made of 3 tiers – Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Siva.
3500 litres of ghee contributed by the devotees and using 100 metres of thick cotton wicks will be used for lighting the Copra of Maha Deepam by tomorrow evening (Tuesday, 6th December) at 6.00 PM!

The renewal activity of the copra (for the lighting of Maha Deepam) is in full swing!
The activity of repairing and setting up the LARGE SIZE COPRA FOR THE LIGHTING OF THE Maha Deepam is in progress at full-swig!
The Bharani Deepam at the Thiruvannamalai Lord Arunchaleswarar temple is scheduled at 4.00 Am in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum of the Lord Arunchaleswarar.
Maha Deepam on top of the 2668′ high mountain is scheduled to be lit at 6.00 PM.
To ensure that the copra on which the Maha Deepam is lit does not get damaged due to overheating, it is made on specially-made copper sheets!
To carry this copra, of 5.5′ height, to be carried up the hill without any problems, 4 rings are fitted on both the top and bottom of the copra vessel and painted yesterday (Friday, 2nd December)!
