The District Administration of Tiruvannamalai District has announced that a holiday has been declared on 6th December on the occasion of the grand and globally popular Deepam Festival celebrated here!
Earlier, specifically for the occasion of the Deepam Festival, an ORDER HAS BEEN ISSUED TO CLOSE ALL TASMAC SHOPS (SELLING ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES) LOCATED ON THE GIRIVALAM ROUTE FOR 4 DAYS!

Deepam Festival 2022 – Day 1 (Night) – Panjamoorthigal Alangaram
On the first day of the festival at 10.00 pm, the Panchamurthys were carried on a procession on Mooshikam (mouse), Peacock, Silver Ahikara Nandhi, Hamsam and Simham (lion) respectively around the temple corridor streets offering Darshan to a large crowd of devotees!

Festival begins with flag hoisting at Tiruvannamalai Annamalaiyar Temple on Karthikai Deepam 2022.
The hugely popular Deepam festival at the Lord Arunchaleswarar temple in Thiruvannamalai commenced yesterday (Sunday, 27th November) with the divine flag-hoisting ceremony!
Subsequent to the divine flag-hoisting ceremony, the idols of the Panchamurthys were brought to the 16-pillar Mandapam at 10.00 AM to offer Darshan to the devotees!
After this, the idols of Lord Arunchaleswarar and His Divine Consort Goddess Unnamulai Amman were taken on a procession in the Velli Vimanam (Silver Carriage) and the deities of Lord Vinayaka, Goddess Parasakthi Amman, Lord Subramanya, and Chandikeswarar were carried on a glass carriage on a procession offering Darshan to a large number of devotees!
