Mattu Pongal is being celebrated in the Lord Arunachaleswarar temple
On 16th January, Thursday, Mattu Pongal is being celebrated in the Lord Arunachaleswarar temple in Thiruvannamalai as well.
The deities of Lord Periyanagar and Goddess Parassakthi Amman offered Darshan to the 5 ‘Nandhi’ idols (Bulls) located at the Sanctum Sanctorum of Lord Periyanagar, Goddess Parasakthi Amman, Thirunavukkarasar temple, located in the 5 corridors – 2nd Corridor ‘Saravailakku’ Nandhi, 2nd Corridor entrance Adhikara Nandhi, Kodimaram Nandhi, The smaller Nandhi located at the 4th Corridor in front of the Kili Gopuram.
Utharayana Punyakaalam – 15-01-2020
With the conclusion of the ‘Utharayana Punyakaalam’, ‘Theerthavari’ was performed on the deity of Lord Chandrasekhara after the deity was carried to the ‘Thamaraikkiulalkkarai (Lotus Pond banks) at the Lord Arunchaleswarar temple in Thiruvannamalai on 15th January (Wednesday).
