Karthigai Deepam Festival 2017 – Day 4 Night

During the night of the 4th day of the grand Thirukkarthigai Deepam festival at Thiruvannamalai, the wondrous Darshan of the deity of the Lord Periya Nayakar being shifted (by the temple staff) and seated on the special carriage of the silver Kamadehnu-Kalpaka Viruksham during the preparations for the special Deeparadhana for the Panchamurthis and then to be taken on a procession.

Deepam festival begins with flag hoisting ceremony

The most important event of the grand Deepam Festival at the Arulmigu Om
Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai commenced today (Thursday, 23rd November) with the divine flag hoisting ceremony.

On the 1st day of the Deepam festival today. The temple corridors were opened at 3.00 AM and a special Abhishekham was performed on the main deity of Lord Arunachaleswarar and His Consort Goddess Unnamulai Amman at the respective sanctum sanctorum. Subsequently, the divine flag-hoisting ceremony on the golden pole was performed.

Thousands of devotees had Darshan of the Lord right from the early morning. Below are some of the pictures showcasing the event.

The famous Deepam Festival performed during the Tamil calendar month of Karthigai on the Full Moon Day is hugely important and popular occasion worldwide.

The invitation letter for the ensuing Karthigai Deepam Festival is ready and the same was presented and offered to the Sanctum Sanctorum of Lord Arulmigu Sambanha Vinayakar situated in the 3rd corridor of the famous Thiruvannamalai Arulmigu Arunachaleswarar Temple.

The invitation letter was then taken around to the devotees and the temple staff to offer their prayers.
