The holy Mahadeepam visible for the 11-Thirukkarthigai festival draws to end!

The traditional grand ‘Thirukkarthigai Deepam’ festival in Thiruvannamalai Lord Arunachaleswarar temple commenced with the divine flag-hoisting ceremony on 1st December.

As the festival progresses, on 10th December at 6.00 PM, the sacred ‘Maha Deepam’ was lti on top of the 2668’ mountain.

Subsequently, the Maha Deepam was visible and offered Darshan to the devotees over the last 11 days. Maha Deepam came to a conclusion with yesterday (Friday, 20th December) night.

On this occasion, thousands of devotees climbed the mountain and had a Darshan of the Maha Deepam.

With the conclusion of Maha Deepam, the lamp (Copra) on which the Maha Deepam was lit will be taken back to the Lord Annamalaiyar temple this morning (Today, Saturday, 21st December) and special poojas will be performed.
