The Divine marriage of the Lord and His consort in Thiruvannamalai performed on 21st March

In a special celebration yesterday (Thursday, 21st March) night at the Thiruvannamalai temple, the deity of Goddess Sri Unnamalai Amman was taken earlier from the ‘Kumarakkoil’ and taken through the Mada Veedhis to the Deepa Darisana Mandapam located in the 3rd corridor of the temple.

The deity of Lord Arunachaleswarar was specially adorned and was brought to the holy-flag tree location. The divine exchange of garlands between the Lord Arunachaleswarar and His Consort Goddess Sri Unnamulai Amman was performed.

After the divine garland exchange, the deities Lord Arunachaleswarar and His Consort Sri Unnamulai Amman was taken to the Thirukalayana Mandapam and then the Divine Marriage was performed.

Full Moon Day Pradosham observed at Thiruvannamalai Temple

The sacred Full Moon Day (Poornima or Pournami) ‘Pradosham’ occasion in the Tamil calendar month of Panguni (18.3.2019).

On this occasion, special Abhisjekhams will be performed in the evening on the ‘Nandhis’ located in the 5 corridors of the famous Thiruvannamalai Lord Arunachaleswarar temple.

Further, the deity of the Lord Pradosha Vinayakar will be taken in a procession on the special carriage Golden Rishabha (Gold Bull) on the 3rd corridor of the temple.

The deity of the Lord Arunachaleswarar in the Thiruvannamalai temple was specially adorned on the holy festival day of Mahasivarathri (Monday, 5th March) and taken on a procession on the special carriage of a silver bull across the 3rd corridor of the temple.

Maham Festival in Tiruvannamalai Temple

Special Somaskandar ‘cuttikkondaperum’ anointing was performed on the deity of Lord Arunachakleswarar on 19th/20th February. Thousands of devotees attended the event with great devotion and spiritual emotions.

The 2nd Courtyard of the temple was set up with a large speaker.

The event was performed in the Pallikollapattu Gaur river.

Special theerthavari performed today (19th Feb) at Thiruvannamalai temple

The deity of Lord Arunachaleswarar was taken to the river Pallikonntppattu in the morning & A special theerthavari was performed on the deity.

Theerthavari performed for the deities of Annamalaiyar and Thirumamudeeswarar

The special event of Theerthavari was performed at the Kalasapakkam Seyyaru on the deities of Lord Annamaliyar and Thirumamudeeswarar yesterday (Monday, 11th February)

The above event of special Theerthavari was performed in a grand style as a part of the ongoing ‘Ratjasapthami’ festival celebrations.nFor this occasion, the deity of Lord Chandrasekharar was specially adorned and taken to the theerthavari function.

On the way, the event of the deity of Lord Chandrasekharar performing the inspection of the lands owned by the temple of Lord Annamalaiyar in the Union of Dhanakotipuram, Kottipuram.

Further, when reaching the Kalasapakkam Thenpallippattu, thousands of devotees offered enthusiastic welcome. After this, the Lord Chandrasekhara reached Kalasapakkam Seyyaru.

In a similar event, the deities of the Kalasapakkam temple, Lord Thirumamudeeswara, and His Consort Goddess Thiripurasundari, specially adorned, were taken to Seyyaru.

Thus, there was a meeting of the deities of Lord Chandrasekharar and Lord Thirumamudeeswarar in the Seyyaru. Participating with extra enthusiasm, the thousands of devotees who had gathered for this special occasion, kept chanting, ‘rohara’ and prayed the Lords!

For the occasion of the special Theerthavari, sacred water was brought from Seyyaru and then the main event of Theerthavari was performed on the deities. and then Deeparadhanai was performed.

As there is no water presently in Seyyaru, a large pit was dug with JCT equipment and water was filled for performing the special theerthavari event.

It has been a tradition for years for the temple elephant of the Annamaliayar temple also to participate in the Theerthavari every year. However, as the elephant had passed away, the devotees, and especially the children, were somewhat disappointed about the absence of the elephant.

‘Annadhanam’ was performed throughout the entire route when the deity of Lord Chandrasekhara was taken from the temple to Seyyaru.

After the event of theerhavari, the deity of Lord Chandrasekharar will remain at Seyyaru through the night session and then the deity will be taken the next morning (today, Tuesday, 12th February) back to the Thiruvannamalai temple.

Harvest offering to Lord Arunachaleswarar in Thiruvannamalai temple

Today (Monday, 11th February) is observed as Ratha Sapthami Day as per the Hindu Almanac (Tamil Calendar). The deity of Lord Aruachaleswarar was taken on a procession to Dhanakotipuram, where the agricultural lands owned by the temple are located. The harvests of the crops were offered to the Lord Arunachaleswarar in a Prayer and Pooja ceremony.

After this, the deity was taken to the celebration of ‘Aatru Thiruvizha’ festival to the place known as ‘Kalasapakkam’.
