With the idol of the Goddess Kamakshi Amman decorated and adorned as the ‘Mahishasura Mardini’, the festival of the destruction of the demon ‘Soorapadman’ or locally called as ‘Soorapadman Vadham’ was performed and celebrated in front of the ‘Chiinakadai Veedhi’ Goddess Durgai Amman Temple’.

Grand Navarathri festival conclusion at Thiruvannamalai temple

The grand Navarathri festival was celebrated at the temple of Lord Arunachaleeswarar with His Consort Goddess Unnamulai Amman at the famous Thiruvannamalai temple from 29th September to 7th October in the ‘Thirumana Mandapam’ (Marriage auditorium) located at the 3rd corridor of the temple.

On the concluding day of the Navarathri festival on 7th October, Goddess Parasakthi Amman was adorned as Mahishasuramardhini.

This evening, Lord Muruga will receive the Divine Spear from the Goddess Amman and would shoot out arrows in all the eight directions at the village of Seriyandhal.
