On the sacred occasion of Panguni Uthiram (the day on which the star ‘Uthiram’ falls on the Tamil Calendar Month of Panguni. The festival of Panguni Uthiram was performed at the world-famous Thiruvannamalai temple with the divine marriage of Lord Arunachaleswarar with His Consort Goddess Unnamulai Amman.

The deity of the Lord Arunachaleswarar along with His Consort Goddess Ambal the Goddess (Unnamulai Amman) was taken to the third corridor and the divine opposut6e the Sanctum Sanctorum of Lord Vinayaka and the divine garland-exchange between the Lord and Goddess was performed.

The divine marriage Of the deity of Lord Arunachaleswarar and His Consort will be performed in the night and the divine procession will be organised.

Thiruvannamalai: District Collector permits devotees undertaking Girivalam!

The District Collector of Thiruvannamalai has permitted the devotees to undertake Girivalam (Taking a circular trip around the bottom of the Thiruvannamalai Mountain and praying and then having a Darshan of Lord Arunachaleswarar!

It is very notable this permission for the devotees to undertake Girivalam resumed after A LONG GAP OF 2 YEARS – DUE TO THE RAGING WAVES OF THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC!

As a precautionary step, the District Collector of Thiruvannamalai has appealed to the devotees and the citizens to strictly adhere to the guidelines of wearing face masks and keeping social distance and undertake Girivalam with full safety measures!

Thiruvannamalai Lord Arunachaleswarar Temple – Panguni month ‘Valarpirai Pradosham’ festival!

The Pradosham festival on the growing phase of the Moon in the Tamil Calendar month of ‘Panguni’ was celebrated grandly today (Tuesday, 15th March)

On this sacred occasion of Pradoisham on the Valarpirai or growing Phase of the moon in the Tamil Calendar month of Panguni, Special Abhishekham and adornment with leaves of ‘Vilvam’ tree was performed on the idol of Lord Arunchaleswarar and the Main Sri Nandhikeswarar. Special Poojas were also performed.

Subsequently, the procession of the Lord was carried out in the 5th Corridor.

Hordes of devotees were standing for long times in the queue strictly following the corona guidelines and had their Darshan of Lord Arunachaleswarar!

Mahasivarathri 2022: Teeming Devotees have Darshan of Lord Sri Arunachaleswarar throughout the night!

The sacred occasion of Mahasivarathri was celebrated as per tradition at the Lord Sri Arunachaleswarar temple at Thiruvannamalai yesterday (Tuesday, 1st March).

Teeming devotees continued to have Darshan of Lord Sri Arunachaleswarar on the special holy occasion of Mahasivarathri throughout the night and till early morning!

Mahasivarathri is one of the most important festivals celebrated with great devotion and verve at the Lord Arunchaleswarar temple in Thiruvannamalai.

‘Laksha Deepam’ was lit on the ‘Chakkara Thhertha Kulam ‘ (pond) situated right opposite the temple of Lord Sri Arunachaleswarar.

On this special occasion of holy Mahasivarathri, a special Musical performance of Nadaswaram recital by more than 100 Nadawaram specialists headed by Pichandi was organised on behalf of the Thiruvannamalai District Girivalam Nadswaram-Davil Music Association for the World Peace lasting till early morning the next day!!

In the cultural performance hall located in the Lord Arunachaleswarar Temple Complex, a Bharathanatyam performance was orgainsed. The teeming devotees visiting the Temple for Darshan of Lord Sri Arunachaleswarar enjoyed these musical and dance performances as well!
