Karthigai Deepam Festival 2019 – Day 3 (Night)

Night On the 3rd day of the festival, during the night, the special Ratha vilakku Deeparadhanai and Panchamuga Deeparadhanai were performed for the deities of Lord Priyanayakar, His Consorts Uma and Kandhar, Lord Vinayaka, Lord Subramanya, with His Consorts Valli and Deivanai, and Goddess Ambal in the form of Lalthambigai, and Lord Chandkeswarar.

After the special Deeparadhanais, the deities were then taken on a procession from the Thirukkalayana Mandapam, along the Mada Veedhis with the deities of the Lord on the carriage of Simmam (lion) and His Consort Ambal on the carriage of annam (swan), and Lord Chandkeshwara on the carriage of Rishabam (bull).

During the noon session of the 3rd Day of the Deepam Festival at Thiruvannamalai, the deities of Lord Chandrasekharar and Lord Vinayaka was taken on a procession around the street adjacent to the temple corridors.

The deities of Panchamoorties (5 gods) seated on special carriages was taken on a proession around the streets adjacent to the temple corridors.

The divine procession of the deity of the Lord Periyanayakar on the carriage of Adhikara Nandi, the deity of His Concert Goddess Ambal in the carriage of Vellai Annam (Silver Swan), the deity of Lord Vinayaka in the carriage of silver mooshikam (silver mouse) and the deity of Lord Muruga in the carriage of peacock, and the deity of the Lord Chandikeswarar in the carriage of puli (tiger) will be organised the previous night.

Deepam festival begins with flag hoisting ceremony

The most important event of the grand Deepam Festival at the Arulmigu Om Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai commenced today (Sunday, 1st December 2019) with the divine flag hoisting ceremony.
