Earlier, the giant oil copra has been lifted down from the top of the mountain.
This special Deeparadhanai was performed during the Pradosham day at the Thiruvannamalai Lord Arunachaleswarar temple.
Maha Deepam copra lift down after 10 days

Bringing of the ghee from the temple for the lighting of the Maha Deepam
Carrying the ‘ghada’ cotton cloth used as the giant wick for the lamp to burn
Pouring the ghee in the copra lamp pot and inserting the cotton cloth as the wick and lighting the lamp.

The lamp copra pot being brought down after the 10th day of the kakarthigai festival on 4th December morning (today)
Further, Special Deeparadhanai is scheduled to be performed for the Deepam Copra oil pot at 6.00 PM in the ‘Aayiram Kaal Mandapam’.

On 26th November, Monday, ‘Annadhanam’ was distributed to the devotees on behalf of the devotees of the Theppal Arupadai Veedu of Lord Muruga and His Consorts Valli and Deivayanai.
With the celebration of the Chandikeswarar festival in the evening, the grand annual Karthigai Deepam Festival comes to a close!
