Special Abhishekham on Durgai Amman and procession
On the sacred occasion of the Maha Kumbhabhishekam Festival at the famous Thiruvannamalai Lord (His Kindness) Arunachaleeswara temple, a special abhishekham was performed for Sri Durgai Amman today, the 27th January, Friday.
After the special abhishekham gets over, the deity of Sri Durgai Amman will be taken on a special procession on Silver Indira Vimanam across the temple corridor and city streets.

Utharayana Punniyakala Brahmotsavam is among the conspicuous festivals in the Thiruvannamalai Temple. The festival was celebrated on 14th January 2017.
The festival was wrapped up by performing Theerthavari on the deity of Lord Chandrasekhara Swami in the Thamarai Kulakkarai Theerthavari Mandapam (theerthavari mandapam at the banks of lotus pond) present towards south of the main temple.
