Sundarar Utsavam Deepa Aaradhanai celebrated in Thiruvannamalai temple
The festival of Sundarar Utsavam Deepa Aaradhanai festival was performed in a grand manner at the famous Arunachala temple in Thiruvannamalai.
The presiding deity was taken around in a procession along the temple corridors and the streets around the temple offering special Darshan to the thousands of devotees who gathered for this special occasion.
The main deity of the temple was decorated in an exquisite manner with special garlands offering the devotees a ‘festival for the eyes and hearts.
The devotees had their heartful Darshan of their deity and prayed on this special day when Sundarar Deepa Aarashanai was performed.
Thiruvannamalai Termple festival – Aadi Pooram Brahmotsavam
The Aadi Pooram Brahmotsavam festival was performed in a grand manner at the famous Arulmigu Annamalaiyar Temple at 10.00 PM in the 3rd Corridor of the sanctum sanctorum of Goddess (Amman).
The ritual of walking-on-fire (Theemidhi vizha) was conducted in front of the sanctum sanctorum of the Goddess.
Last day of Aadi pooram Brammotsavam
These pictures show the last day of Aadi pooram Brammotsavam celebration where Parasakthi Aman arrives at Theerthakarai at 12.30 approximately at Sivagangai Theertha Kulam Theerthavari. After Theerthavari, Parasakthi Amman arrives at Valaigaappu mandapam at 04.00 pm where special Pooja are done. At 05.00 pm, Valaigaappu took place and at 06.00 pm, Madaveedhi and at 11.00 pm, Thee midhi Thiruvizha took place.
Guru peyarchi and Aadi perukku celebrations at Thiruvnanamalai
In Neepathurai village, next to Thiruvannamalai, owing to Aadi Ammavasai, special celebrations for Aadi 18 or Aadi Perukku and Guru Peyarchi took place. In Arulmigu Sellayamman Temple present at the centre of Sengam Neeppathurai Thenpennai river, along the Thenpennai river banks, Prasanna Venkatrama Perumal Temple, the Sengam Sivan Temple Guru Peyarchi at Thiruvannamalai Annnamalayar Temmple took place. Kuthu vilakku pooja
Kuthu vilakku pooja was conducted for Ambal. Female devotees performed the pooja. It was a feast for the eyes.
