On the 5th day of this important and famous festival, the deity of the Lord Arunachaleswara will be carried during the night and taken on a procession on Rishabha (the sacred bull) Vahana (Carriage) in the streets and corridors of the temple.

The flag-hoisting ceremony was performed with the main deity placed in from the flag pole.
This is the period when the Sun takes a turn from the North to the South. So, the ceremony of flag-hoisting is called Dakshinayana Punya Kala Kodiyetrtam.
