Grand Aadi Pooram festival flag-hoisting at Thiruvannamalai temple

On the occasion of the grand Aadi Pooram festival, the holy flag-hoisting ceremony for the festival was performed in the flagpole/tree located in front of the sanctum sanctorum of the Goddess Amman at 6.45 AM today (Saturday, 4th August) or the 19th day of the Tamil calendar month Aadi. The deity of the Goddess Amman was taken out on a procession later.

After the lunar eclipse was over, ‘Theerthavari’ was performed early morning 4.00 AM today (Saturday, 28th July) in the ‘Brahma Theertha kulam’ located in the 4th corridor of the Thiruvannamalai Arunachaleswarar temple.

The spectacular event of the Lord Chandrasekharar presenting himself to one of his devoted Nayanmars, Sundarar was performed in the famous temple of Lord Arunachaleswarar at Thiruvannamalai.

Lord Chandrasekhara appeared before the devotee Sundarar at Thittivasal.

After this, the display of fireworks was organized at Raya Gopuram.

Then, the deity of Lord Chandrasekharar was taken out on a procession.

On the 9th day morning of the grand Aani (Tamil calendar month) Brahmotsavam festival, the deity of Lord Natarajar is taken on a procession around the corridors and the streets around the temple.

Also. ‘Oodal Utsavam’ (light-hearted and good-humoured tiff) between Lord Natarajar and His Consort Goddess Sivakami Ambal will be performed near the ‘Magizha Maram’ (Spanish Cherry tree) in the 3rd corridor of the temple.
