Girivalam Timing for the month of January 2020

Pilgrims believe that by worshipping at the Arunachaleswarar temple at Tiruvannamalai and go Girivalam on the new moon day will get the blessings of the Lord abundantly. The 14 km-long Girivalam path around the Arunachala hill in Tiruvannamalai district that is treaded by lakhs of devotees every month on full moon days. Special buses are operated on this day from various important places of Tamil Nadu.

Every full moon day of the month Girivalam is undertaken by the pilgrims. For this month the temple authorities have given the Girivalam timing as below:

Girivalam Timing: 09th January 2020 – 02:48 AM (Thursday) to 10th January 2020 – 1:49 AM (Friday)

Vaikunta Ekadasi events in Thiruvannamalai Lord Arunachaleswarar temple

On the occasion of the sacred festival of Vaikunat Ekadasi occurring today (Monday, 6th January), Special Abhishekham and Deeparadhanai were performed on the deity of Lord Sri Venugopal Swamy located in the sanctum in the 2nd corridor of the Lord Arunachaleswarar temple in Thiruvannamalai. After the special Abhiskekham on the deity of Lord Venugoapalaswamy, the ‘Vaikunta Vasal’ ( Heaven’s gates) were opened for the devotees.

The divine flag-hoisting ceremony marking the advent of Utharayana Punniya Kalam was performed in the morning at the Lord Sri Arunachaleswarar temple in Thiruvannamalai today morning (Monday, 6th January).
