Theerthavari on the auspicious day of Maha Maham

On the auspicious day of Maha Maham, the idols of the temple were taken for theerthavari. Seen here are the idols of the Lord and his consort being taken out in procession towards the water body. Hundreds of devotees thronged the roads to get a glimpse of the idols. After abhishekam, the idols were immersed in the water.

Abhishekam Of Lord Nataraja On Maasi Maha Maham

When the nakshatra Maham falls in the Tamil month of Maasi is usually is on Pournami or full moon day. This day is extremely auspicious. This year, the day is Maha Maham and a big congregation of devotees visit temples around Tamil Nadu.
