Harvest offering to Lord Arunachaleswarar in Thiruvannamalai temple

Today (Monday, 11th February) is observed as Ratha Sapthami Day as per the Hindu Almanac (Tamil Calendar). The deity of Lord Aruachaleswarar was taken on a procession to Dhanakotipuram, where the agricultural lands owned by the temple are located. The harvests of the crops were offered to the Lord Arunachaleswarar in a Prayer and Pooja ceremony.

After this, the deity was taken to the celebration of ‘Aatru Thiruvizha’ festival to the place known as ‘Kalasapakkam’.

Special Theerthavari performed on Thai Amavasai at Lord Arunachaleswarar temple – Thiruvannamalai

On the holy occasion of the New Moon Day in the Tamil calendar month of Thai falling today (Monday, 4th February), the event of Thai Amavasi Arthodhaya Mahodhaya Punyakala Theerthavar event was performed on the deities of Priyanayakar along with His Consort Goddess Parasakthi Amman in the Ayyankulam, known also as Indira theertham pond after the deities were taken from the respective Sanctum Sanctorums.
