Thai Poosam – Special ‘Theerthavari’ performed at Thiruvannamalai Temple

Especially for the occasion of ‘Thai Poosam’ (The occasion on which the star ‘Poosam’ falls in the Tamil calendar month of ’Thai’) which is supposed to be sacred and celebrated as a traditional function, the deity of Lord Chandrasekharar was taken to the ‘Eesanya kulakkaraI’ (the banks of the east-side pond) and a special ‘theerthavari’ was performed.

Subsequently, special Abhishekham and Deeparadhanai were performed for the deity.

While on return from the pond, the Lord comes to know of the demise of the father of Vallala Maharaja and returns to the temple peacefully!
