The peak of the summer, called Agni Nakshatram or Kathiri Veyil in Tamil, is in progress and scheduled to end tomorrow (Sunday, 28th May).
In order to ward off the evil effects of the Agni Nakshatram period, special sanctifying Prayers/Pooja are to be performed in the famous Lord Arunachaleshwara temple in Thiruvannamai.
This is called Agni Nakshatra Dosha Nivarthi. 1008 Kalasabhishekham will be performed in the temple.
At the famous Lord Arunachaleswarar temple at Thiruvannamalai on the auspicious occasion pof Chandrodaya Punya Kaalam, a gramd festival of Mahabhishekha Theerthotsava festival even is being celebrated.
