After performing theerthavari in the Ayyankulam in the morning session, special abhishekham was performed in the Arunagireeswarar temple, After this, during the night session, The deities of Periyanayakar and Parasakthi Amman offered darshan to the devotees on the full moon day at the Gopla Pillayar temple ‘Mandagappidi’.

The deities entered the 3rd corridor of the temple in the local administration office mandapam via ‘thittivasal’ and then the event of ‘Manmaha burning’ was carried out.

The 14th Day of the 1st Tamil Calendar Month Chithirai in the Tamil New Year Hevilambi. It was the 8th day (28th April) of the grand Spring festival being celebrated at the famous Thiruvannamalai temple of Lord Arunachaleswarar.

The deity of Lord Periyanayakar was taken to the Panneer Mandapam to offer Darshan to the devotees. In the first event, the ‘flower shower’ was performed on the deity.

Subsequently, the deity of the Lord Periyanayakar was taken out to offer Darshan to the Lord Jalagandeswarar sanctum sanctorum located under the Magizhamaram. Then, Deeparadhanai was performed. The deity was taken out again and placed at the local office administration mandapam. The deity was adorned fresh and taken out in procession.

The wonderful incident of the Lord Periyanayakar searching for Manmadha, the God of Love in the 3rd corridor of the temple was performed.

Special Pradosham performed on the previous Tamil year last New Moon Day

A special Pradosham was performed in the Lord Arunachaleswarar Temple at Thiruvannamalai on the auspicious day of the Amavasya (New Moon Day) day of the last Tamil calendar month of Panguni, of the recently concluded previous Tamil calendar Year Hevilambi.

Pradosham is a bimonthly occasion on the thirteenth day of every fortnight in Hindu calendar. It is closely connected with the worship of Hindu god Shiva. The auspicious 3 hour period, 1.5 hours before and after the sunset is one of the optimum times for worship of Lord Shiva.
