Special Abhishekham was performed on the Utasavamurthy (the idol taken for procession) of Lord Periya Nayakar along with His Consort Goddess Unnamualai Amman on the New Moon Day falling in the Tamil Calendar month of Vaikasi (on 7th June, Monday)!
Om 7th June (Monday), Pradosham on the New Moon Day (Amavasai or Amavasya in Tamil) falling in the Tamil calendar month of Vaikasi was observed. Special Abhishekhams were performed for the ‘Periya Nandhi’ located at the 5th Corridor of the temple and Deeparadhanai was performed.
